Online Problem Gambling Training
Keeping up with digital gaming/ gambling trends can be overwhelming and exhausting for many in problem gambling and addictions professions. In this workshop, we look at an overview and key concerns of some of the latest trends in the online gaming world, and how the lines often are blurry between what is gaming and what is gambling.
- Haskins is an Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor- II, Board Approved Clinical Consultant, International Clergy Lay Problem Gambling and Spiritual Outreach, and Master Addictions Counselor. She is President of the Maryland Council on Problem Gambling and is a recognized leader for 20 plus years in disordered gambling.
- Maryland CEPG Online Training Parts I and II trains counselors, educators, prevention specialists, and other health care and social service providers to address problem gambling. Part I focuses on strategies for screening for gambling problems and initiating conversations regarding the impact of gambling and problem gambling on recovery, health.
NCPG Education Committee reviews and approves applications for problem gambling-specific Continuing Education Units (CEU). The purpose of NCPG CEUs is so educational providers and attendees have confidence that an approved conference/training has:

- Educational goals and objectives that demonstrate that our programs will increase specific or general problem gambling knowledge among program trainees and/or make relevant their area of expertise to the field of problem gambling.
- Instructional design that promotes learning about problem gambling.
- Evidence of successful completion and an evaluation form for each trainee.
- Instructors whose credentials and qualifications demonstrate possession of expertise in problem gambling.
Individuals who seek gambling-specific CEUs should contact the Board and/or Certifying body to ensure they accept NCPG CEUs.
