Act as oversight and security agent for management and customers. Observe casino or casino hotel operation for irregular activities such as cheating or theft by either employees or patrons. May use one-way mirrors above the casino floor, cashier's cage, and from desk. Use of audio/video equipment is also common to observe operation of the business. Observes and reports on all areas under surveillance to assure compliance with the Casino’s in-house regulations and in-house gaming policies and procedures, including identification of cheating activities and undesirable patrons, pilferage, embezzlement and any irregularity, in order to provide protection of corporate assets and liabilities. Casino surveillance operators are security personnel employed by casino operators and state and local government agencies. They are tasked with monitoring guests and employees to ensure against.
High technology security is necessary in casinos which employ Gaming Surveillance Officers, also known as Gaming Investigators or Surveillance Security Agents. They not only act to secure casino premises and its resources, but also act as security agents for casino employees, management staff and patrons. Using CCTV concealed behind one-way mirrors as well as listening devices strategically situated in the casino gaming area, these officers control a console of audio and video equipment in an observation or surveillance room.

- Must have the patience and an observant eye to spot unusual activity on the monitor screen.
- Must have the presence of mind to alert security officers or alarm systems at the outset of a developing crime.
- Must be physically fit with quick reflexes.
- Must have excellent computer literacy and adeptness in operating audio and video surveillance systems.
- Knowledge in using two-way single side band radios
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with casino clients
- Can work in varied shifts
